Throw a Tie Dye Baby Shower

Friday, June 14, 2013
We had so much fun at our tie dye baby shower and we wanted to share how all the elements fell together for our baby shower for our iLoveToCreate co-workers!  We set up this pretty display in our auditorium, but we know you can adapt these ideas to work at your next shower!  We wanted the colors to be bright and fun, so we used our Tulip One-Step Tie Dye to make our party super festive and fun!  All our decorations and elements (minus the yummy cake balls and punch) were created using the dye!
Here's a cute behind-the-scenes video we made for the occasion that will show you even more details and fun had at our party!

Check out all the fun eye candy at our event!   Our pretty paper umbrellas lined the table!

And the adorable baby diaper cake lined with tie dye pom poms, tulle, and a glittered B for baby stole the show! Here's a great tutorial from Wikihow showing how to make a diaper cake. We simply added swatches of tie dye fabric to ours, along with fuchsia tulle and pom poms we made!  Find the tutorial for the t-shirt pom poms here.

Our tables were adorned with large tie dye fabric swatches over white tablecloths with matching tie dye onesies and bouquets as accents.  Designer Pattiewack paired tie dye onesie roses inside the fresh flowers! Learn how to make the onesie roses using Tulip One-step Tie Dye here.
Here;s a picture of the pretty roses up close on the tables.
Mom-to-be Lauren Binci holds up some fun tie dyed onesies that we gifted to her and the other expectant parents! We also had a tie-dye onesie-making station where all the employees made baby bibs and onesies with the Tulip dye!  Everyone had a blast (especially the guys who had never tie dyed before)!
Sam and his wife Michelle are expecting a baby girl in the fall!  That pink onesie, sure is going to come in handy!
Our resident cupcake and sweets maker Stacy made these colorful cake balls for the occasion!  They were to DYE for!
We even made this fun tie dye baby shower invitation for the event that is a free download for you to use at your tie dye baby shower!  Download it here.

Throw a Tie Dye Onesie Party at your next Baby Shower

Wednesday, June 12, 2013
Baby showers can be fun.  They also can be kinda lame if you find yourself smelling baby food jars and looking at chocolate-filled diapers.  At your next shower, why not make it REALLY fun by decorating onesies for the baby to be!  Everyone will have a great time making something that will be incredibly useful after the baby arrives!  And tie dye onesies are so colorful and vibrant, so baby will totally stand out from the crowd!
What you need:
Tulip One-Step Tie Dye in a variety of colors; we suggest getting a Super Big or Kaleidoscope kit which has 12 colors inside!
– Plastic table covers
– Large table
– Plastic or metal buckets to contain the dye
– Paper towels
– Plastic gloves and aprons
– Ziploc bag
– Decorations (optional)

Before the party begins: Layout your surface cover and prepare your space!  Space your buckets apart so there is enough room for everyone!
Decorate the space if you want!  We had this cool hanging stick that we hung finished onesies from.  It made for a super cute space and offered some ideas for the tie dyers.
You'll want to first fill your bottles with water and shake to prepare them for the party!
Make your gloves and aprons super accessible! We wrapped ours in a cut-up tie-dye shirt we had on hand! Make them super easy for guests to get to!
Have everyone dye inside the buckets so it stays mess-free!  They can follow the directions inside the guide that comes with the kit if they are needing inspiration for their project!
Once everyone is done, they can clean up their bucket with paper towels and wrap their tie dyed item in a ziploc bag and set it aside for the host to wash and give to the mom-to-be!
Since we had our baby shower for expectant company employees, all our office staff stopped by to make a onesie!  The guys especially had fun making them!
And here's some photos of the finished creations!  Everyone did such creative designs!
A few onesies were made for the expectant boys!  Such cute color combos!
While the focus was onesies, there also were some cute tie dye bibs made tooi!  Perfect for hiding all those icky baby stains!
That's going to be one rockin' baby for sure!

All this week we will be featuring the fun projects and activities from our tie dye baby shower!

Tie Dye Onesie Roses

Tuesday, June 11, 2013
In need of some fun crafts for your baby shower?  Here's a fun idea using a tie dye onesie that serves as both a decoration and gift for the mom to be! They are so easy to make too!
What you need:
– Tie Dye onesies dyed with Tulip One-Step Tie-Dye
– wooden skewer
– pipe cleaner color-coordinated with your onesie

Fold your onesie in half.
Place the skewer tip in the middle of the bottom of the onesie and start rolling upward.
It will look like this when you reach the top.
Now grip the bottom of your onesie and tightly wrap your pie cleaner around the bottom.
It will look like this once wrapped around 3 or 4 times.

Now loosen the tightness of the rolled onesie so it looks more rose-petal like.
Bunch all your onesies together in a vase or poke into an existing flower bouquet for a touch of whimsy!

We had the onesie roses grouped in color coordinated bunches...
...blue, green, pnk, and blue!

The roses turned out so cool and were the perfect lttle accent for our bouquets at the shower!

They even look great bunched together!

All this week we will be featuring the fun projects from our tie dye baby shower.
